The coverage area
Requests sent through this site are forwarded to independent companies that sweep, inspect and repair chimneys in four counties: Bexar (2,067,341 residents), Comal (183,826), Guadalupe (183,642) and Kendall (48,567), all ACS 2024 5-year figures. The chimneys across that area are not alike. The old core, Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Monte Vista and King William, holds 1920s–50s brick and limestone masonry chimneys with clay flue tiles, often with gas logs in the firebox. The 1970s–90s north side, Shavano Park, Fair Oaks Ranch and Bulverde among them, is largely builder homes with factory-built metal fireboxes and chase covers now 30 to 55 years old. The Hill Country edge, Boerne, Bulverde, Helotes and Fair Oaks Ranch, has 1990s–2020s stone-veneer fireplaces on acreage lots, a noticeable propane share and live-oak and cedar debris. New Braunfels and Schertz are mostly 2000s production homes with electric heat, where the fireplace is often the only combustion appliance in the house.
Whatever the town, the climate is the same: NOAA's 1991–2020 normals show 14.0 freezing nights a year and 32.38 inches of rain, so flues sit idle most of the year and the common problems are water, rust and animals rather than heavy creosote. Companies quote sweeping, Level 1, 2 and 3 chimney inspections, caps, dampers and animal exclusion, crown, flashing and masonry repair, dryer vent cleaning and gas fireplace and log-set service in every area listed.
